EBA consultation on regulatory technical standards (RTS)

On 6 March 2025, the European Banking Authority (EBA) launched a public consultation on four draft regulatory technical standards (RTS).

These technical regulatory standards will be central to the EU's new anti-money laundering regime. They will largely determine how the AMLA, national supervisory authorities and obliged entities fulfil their obligations under the new pan-European anti-money laundering regime.

The RTS on due diligence measures to be applied to customers (KYC) is particularly relevant from the perspective of obliged entities.

The consultation will run until 6 June 2025, by which time comments on the drafts can be submitted to the EBA.
