Update to the List of Jurisdictions with Strategic Deficiencies
The so-called “grey list” of the FATF was updated.
New countries added to the list
Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Angola and Lebanon were newly added. Jurisdictions under increased monitoring are actively working with the FATF to address strategic deficiencies in their regimes to counter money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. These countries have committed to implementing an action plan to address the identified issues within agreed timeframes.
Countries removed from the list
Senegal was removed from the grey list. Countries are generally delisted when the FATF determines that they have made significant progress in addressing the strategic deficiencies identified in their AML/CFT systems.
