In an interview with deutsche-startups.de, our founder Dr. Jacob Wende gives an insight into the creation of Regpit, our business model, and our next big goals. Particularly exciting: a look behind the scenes of everyday life at RegTech – from regulatory upheavals to the search for investors.
What you can expect in the interview:
- How did the idea for Regpit come about?
- How does the business model work?
- How would you explain Regpit to your grandmother?
- How did you get in touch with the investors?
- How do the founders know each other?
- What challenges have there been so far?
- What's next on the agenda?
- And: Where will Regpit be in a year?
The big advantage of Regpit:
"We translate complicated laws and regulations for combating money laundering and sanctions into simple technical processes. Since numerous companies are required to comply with the requirements of the Money Laundering Act, this saves a lot of time and money, as companies would otherwise have to do everything manually. The pressure to comply with legal requirements is growing, and many banks and companies have already been fined heavily for not complying sufficiently with the requirements."
Jacob also addresses the current regulatory momentum:
“The entire money laundering regulatory framework is undergoing fundamental change in Europe. The country-specific laws that are still in place today are being harmonized across Europe. From our perspective, this period of transition is obviously great, as it presents an opportunity to implement the many new processes digitally. We are in the right place at the right time with an innovative product.”
